The Opinion On Project Natal
Coming this winter will mark a revolution to the way that we play games in the new Project Natal that is set to hit the Xbox 360. If you don’t know what this is then here is a brief overview.
You Are The Controller
It would seem that you being the controller is the major selling point to this new hardware and it lets gamers play without controllers. So you are going to be covered in all kinds of crazy wires right, well wrong all you need is to be able to move around or talk. All you need for this is to be able to move around and have a good time, that’s it!.
Voice recognition is a very important part of Project Natal and it would seem that players will be able to tell the Xbox to turn off and on and of course interact with the game on a level that we have never seen before. It has even been speculated that there will be online quizzes with voice recognition.
Of course there are other companies out there that are calling all of this a load of nonsense and Sony are at the top of this list, they are saying they made this technology a long time ago (eyetoy) the fact is they made a cheap toy and this is not cheap and it is not a toy, it can map 3D, recognise individual people and is a step towards virtual reality.
Although there have not been any major games announced for this piece of hardware as of yet I am sure that come E3 in June we are going to see a lot more. It has been announced that Fable 3 will have features in it for Project Natal but the entire game will not be set around it.
Microsoft have already stated that older edition of the 360 will all work with Natal but I would still expect them to be releasing an Xbox 360 to come packaged with this.
Although many of the new Xbox 360’s are not overheating it is safe to say the old ones are pretty unreliable which is why you should get something like air conditioners. I have even tried cooling mine down with a portable air conditioner but a dehumidifier works best.
