The Blackberry Bold, the newly released smartphone by RIM, offers a multitude of features and functions. 3G HSDPA technology is incorporated in the Blackberry Bold, a first for for this line of smartphones. The highest ever screen resolution on a Blackberry and improved support for Microsoft Office ensure that business users in particular will be attracted to the phone. Of course, it will appeal to a much wider market too.

The 480 x 320 resolution screen makes it sufficiently large to allow you to easily read emails and watch videos with crystal clarity, but it also makes the overall size of the Blackberry Bold bigger compared to other models in the line. While it is a bit bigger, it is just as lightweight, and the keyboard just as simple to use as ever. The new Blackberry OS, Blackberry 4.6, is featured in this phone, powered by a 624 MHz processor and it allows you to connect to WiFi, GPS, and HSDPA networks.

This Blackberry is very media-centric, allowing you to utilize your music and videos like never before. The 2 megapixel camera found with the Bold allows you to take very high resolution pictures you can then send to your friends or upload to Facebook. The media player even lets you look at all of your movies, TV shows and pictures in an easy to use format.

Those of you with iTunes will be able to sync to your Blackberry using the Blackberry Media Sync application. Now you can carry your music library with you wherever you go from your computer using the USB 2.0 port available on the device. In terms of ringtones, you can use MIDI or polyphonic and MP3 files to customize your rings.

You can also keep in touch with your business with the help of the Blackberry Bold’s Documents To Go feature, allowing you to look at Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents in the same way that you would if you were staring straight at them from a computer screen. This way, you can keep an eye on the important documents and presentations that can make or break your office. However, while you can view these documents, it is impossible to edit them, so keep that in mind.
